Our Services & Programs
Recovery Done Simple is a nonprofit organization based in Kensington, PA, dedicated to serving individuals in Philadelphia & Delaware County affected by homelessness and substance use. We offer direct, hands-on support and practical pathways to recovery through the following core services:
Street Outreach & Engagement
We meet people where they are — providing hygiene kits, food, clothing, harm reduction supplies, and a listening ear with no judgment.
Emergency Bridge Support Program
Emergency Bridge Program provides rapid, short-term support to remove immediate barriers that prevent individuals from accessing treatment, housing, employment, or recovery services. Through small, targeted assistance—such as ID replacement, transportation to detox, recovery housing deposits, phone access, or essential clothing—we help bridge the critical gap between crisis and stability.
Our goal is simple: when someone is ready for their next step, nothing small should stand in their way.
Rapid Recovery Navigation Program
We help individuals take their next steps toward recovery by connecting them with detox, rehab, outpatient services, and peer support programs.
ArtReach Program
Community-based creative arts initiative that uses graffiti and street art as tools for mentorship, prevention, and positive self-expression for at-risk youth and young adults. Led by artists and individuals with lived experience, ArtReach provides hands-on instruction in lettering, character development, and mural concepts while teaching discipline, creativity, and respect for the craft.
ArtReach creates safe, supportive spaces where young people can build confidence, develop artistic and life skills, and connect with positive role models. By channeling creativity into purpose, the program strengthens community ties and offers meaningful alternatives that inspire growth beyond the streets.
Food Access Community Pantry Delivery
Family Pantry provides direct food box delivery to low-income families and individuals facing food insecurity in our community. Through scheduled drop-offs, we deliver essential pantry staples and household basics directly to homes—removing transportation barriers and ensuring families have consistent access to nutritious food.
Rooted in dignity and community care, the Family Pantry program is designed to support households during difficult times without judgment. By meeting families where they are, RDS helps reduce stress, strengthen stability, and ensure that no neighbor goes without the essentials needed to thrive.
Reentry Navigation Project
The RDS Reentry Navigation Project supports individuals returning home from incarceration, treatment, or institutional settings as they rebuild their lives in the community. Through peer-led guidance and hands-on support, we help participants navigate critical first steps such as obtaining identification, securing housing, accessing recovery services, finding employment, and reconnecting with family and community resources.
Grounded in lived experience and dignity, our approach focuses on removing barriers, building stability, and providing consistent support during the vulnerable transition period. RDS walks alongside individuals as they move from survival to structure—ensuring no one has to navigate reentry alone.
Stay Alive Project
Street-based harm reduction and overdose prevention initiative dedicated to keeping people safe and alive. Through direct outreach, peer engagement, and education, our team distributes life-saving resources—including naloxone, wound care supplies, hygiene kits, and prevention information—while building trusted relationships on the ground.
Education & Advocacy
We raise awareness about addiction, homelessness, and harm reduction while advocating for compassionate policy and systemic change in Kensington and beyond.
Peer Support & Mentorship
Our team includes individuals with lived experience who offer one-on-one guidance, hope, and encouragement to those currently navigating recovery and housing instability.
